From a very young age, Gill showed a deep interest in cricket. He picked up a bat at the age of three, and his father recognized his potential immediately. In an inter-district under-16 match, he scored an impressive 351 runs, sharing a record opening partnership of 587 runs. By 14, he had already scored a double century on his under-16 debut in the Vijay Merchant Trophy. These performances marked him as a prodigy and paved the way for higher-level cricket.
